Road Pins privacy
Road Pins: Travel Map & Poster is made by DigiRune Studios (McCullough Development, Inc.), Beaufort, South Carolina.
Your map stays on your phone. The places you pin, the dates you add to them, map names and your settings are saved only on this device unless you choose to sign in. There are no ads, no trackers and no analytics in the app.
If you choose to sign in (optional, with Google or Apple), Road Pins keeps a copy of your saved map online (your pins, the dates you added, your map names and your app settings, such as light or dark) so they stay safe and match on all your devices. It is stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore). We receive your sign-in email, the account id and, if your Google or Apple account shares them, your name and profile picture link; we do not use them for anything else, and we never sell or share them. You can sign out any time (your pins stay on the phone), or delete your account in Settings, which deletes the online copy too.
Photos you add to places never leave your phone. The app makes them smaller and keeps them only on this device. They are not uploaded, not part of the online copy and not in backup files.
The one-time unlock is bought through the App Store or Google Play. They handle the payment; we never see your card or payment details. The app asks the store whether your account owns the unlock and remembers the answer on your phone.
Notes you send us. Settings has an optional "Report a problem or suggest an idea" link. If you use it, we receive your message, the kind of note, the app name and version, your device type and, only if you add it, your email address so we can reply. A random code kept on your phone lets us limit how many notes one device can send in a day. Your IP address is not stored with your note. A Cloudflare check (Turnstile) runs when the form opens to keep out spam; to tell people from bots, Cloudflare sees your IP address and basic details about your device and browser, under Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
When you make a share card, a yearly recap, poster or backup file, the app builds it on your phone. It goes only where you choose to send or save it.

This website. The Road Pins website (not the app) counts visits with GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly counter that uses no cookies. It records the page you open, the site that sent you, your browser, screen size and country, and clicks on the free PDF buttons. It does not store your IP address and does not follow you to other sites. The app itself has no analytics.
